Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be home for the estimate?
No, you don’t need to be home. Our team will walk the perimeter of your home and count the windows. It’s a quick process that usually takes about 10 minutes. Just make sure the yard is accessible and let us know if you have any pets we should be aware of, especially if they’re prone to escaping.
Do I need to be home during my appointment?
No, as long as we have the access we need and can reach you by phone to confirm pricing and collect payment, you don’t need to be home. Your presence is completely up to your comfort level.
If you prefer to be there, we’ll provide a small arrival window when you schedule. We can also call you 30 minutes before we arrive so you don’t have to wait around. We take pride in being on time, and if we’re ever running more than a few minutes late, our crew will call with an update.
Do you use Rain-X or similar products when cleaning windows
We use Gleam on every job. It’s a concentrated, eco-friendly soap that helps reduce hard water stains and keeps water, dirt, and minerals from bonding to the glass. Gleam helps your windows stay looking cleaner for longer and makes future cleanings much easier, especially if they’re exposed to sprinkler water or frequent rain.
What should I do to prepare for your arrival?
For outside-only cleanings, no preparation is needed. We bring everything we need.
For interior work, we kindly ask that you move any knick-knacks or breakables away from the windows. We can work around most furniture, but if something is completely blocking a window, it’s helpful if it’s moved beforehand. If you’d like our team to move it for you, just let us know in advance so we can be prepared.
How do you protect my floors, walls, and belongings during a window cleaning?
We take every precaution to protect your home. We wear shoe covers or remove our shoes, and our ladders have rubber, non-scratch feet. Equipment is cleaned before entering, and we use minimal water indoors to avoid splashing. Towels are placed under windows and on furniture, and our ladders have padded ends to protect your walls.
We’re also careful when moving any belongings to access windows. If larger furniture needs to be moved, just let us know ahead of time.
We’re fully insured with $2 million in liability coverage, workers’ comp, and fidelity bonding—for your peace of mind and ours.
Do you clean window tracks?
Yes. Our standard service includes a quick wipe of visible tracks and window frames to remove loose dirt and debris. For a spotless finish, we also offer detailed track and frame cleaning for an additional cost—just ask us for an estimate.
Do you offer other services besides window cleaning?
Yes! We also provide solar panel cleaning, track detailing, gutter cleaning, power washing, and commercial services. You can see our full list of offerings on the Services page of our website.
I have pets—do they need to be crated or put away during my appointment?
Not at all. If your pets are friendly, we’re happy to work around them, and as pet owners ourselves, we love giving them a little attention during the day. We also understand that some pets are escape artists or extra vocal, so we’ll gladly follow any instructions you give us to keep them safe and comfortable. You can trust we’ll treat your pets with the same care we give our own.
What forms of payment do you accept? Do I have to pay on site?
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Payments made by cash or check receive a 3% discount, though our crews do not carry change. Payment is due upon completion of service unless other arrangements have been made.
If you won’t be home during your appointment, we’ll give you a call to collect payment.
What is a divided light (French) window?
A divided light window has solid metal or plastic dividers that physically separate the glass into multiple panes. Faux French windows have dividers inside the glass, giving the same look but without actual separate panes.
How to tell the difference: Run your finger over the divider. If you can feel it, it’s a true divided light window. If the surface is smooth, it’s faux French.
Why it matters: True divided light windows take more time to clean and detail, so they’re priced higher than regular or faux French windows.
What is a breached window, and what can I do about it?
A breached window is a double-paned window with a broken seal, allowing moisture to get trapped between the panes. This often appears as constant fogging or splatter-like patterns that cannot be cleaned off.
Breaches can happen due to manufacturing defects, faulty seals, shifting foundations, temperature changes, or general weathering. A breached seal can also allow moisture, bacteria, and mold to develop between the panes.
The only long-term solution is to replace the window, but the good news is that it’s typically just an appearance issue and doesn’t require urgent action.
What is a tempered window, and why is it different?
Tempered glass is a type of safety glass designed to break into small, rounded pieces rather than sharp shards. It’s often used in areas where safety is important, such as bathrooms, stairwells, doors, and other locations where someone could fall through.
In some cases, manufacturing defects can leave fine glass particles—called “fines”—embedded on the surface. These aren’t visible but can be felt to the touch. Not all tempered windows have this issue, but when they do, scraping the surface with a razor can cause permanent scratches.
Our crew is trained to identify tempered glass with defects and to use alternative cleaning methods that protect the glass from damage.
My window has tint or film on it. Can you clean it?
Yes! We can safely clean tinted windows. We use Glass Gleam 4, a gentle, concentrated soap that won’t harm tint, and we never use solvents or harsh chemicals that could cause damage.
To protect the tint, we avoid tools like razor scrapers or steel wool, so certain things—like paint—can’t be removed. Normal dirt and grime, however, come off easily, and we’ll clean your tinted windows as thoroughly and safely as possible.
Do you clean blinds?
We don’t offer blind cleaning, as it requires specialized equipment and techniques. Our focus is on providing the best window cleaning possible.
